Facial cellulitis of odontogenic origin is a serious infection. Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons play a central role in the diagnosis and treatment of affected children.

Murdoch Children’s Research Institute (MCRI), in collaboration with Melbourne Dental School, is conducting a study to explore dental practitioners’ perceptions, experiences, and current practices in managing facial cellulitis of odontogenic origin in children (MCRI Ethics Approval: 4869). This study aims to describe international variation in the clinical management of paediatric odontogenic facial cellulitis and identify factors that influence clinical decision-making.
