1
Who can contribute to FACE to FACE?
Anyone in the global oral and maxillofacial surgery community from students and residents to experienced surgeons, educators, and researchers. If you have a story, lesson, or perspective to share, we want to hear it.
If you have multiple contributors, please note that each post can only have one (1) assigned author due to platform limitations. If you would like to acknowledge multiple contributors, you can include their names in the "Additional Contributors" section of the form and/or list them within the content of the post. You are also encouraged to include their head shots as attachments with your submission.
2
Do I have to be a great writer to contribute?
Absolutely not. We’re more interested in authentic stories and useful insights than perfect prose. Our editorial team can help lightly polish your submission if needed. We understand that English is not the native language for many. However, we do ask that all submissions are provided in English.
3
What types of content can I submit?
We welcome a wide variety of formats, including:
-
Articles and editorials
-
Q&As and interviews
-
Video submissions
-
Infographics or slide decks
-
Polls or discussion starters
-
Listicles and how-to guides
4
How long should my submission be?
Most written content is between 400–800 words. Videos should generally be under 5 minutes. But the most important thing is clarity. Say what you need to say in the format and time length that suits you best.
5
Can I include images or multimedia with my submission?
Yes! Images, short videos, and slide-based content are encouraged. They help bring your message to life and increase engagement.
6
Is FACE to FACE peer-reviewed?
No, FACE to FACE is not a peer-reviewed scientific journal. It’s a professional content platform developed by the International Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (IAOMS) and its volunteer members. Submissions are reviewed by the FACE to FACE editorial team comprised of IAOMS members. They are reviewing content primarily for relevance, clarity, tone, and standard medical accuracy, but we do not conduct peer reviews. Please take note: We DO require accurate citations.
7
Will I retain ownership of my content?
Yes. You retain full ownership of your content. By submitting it to FACE to FACE, you grant IAOMS a non-exclusive right to use, reproduce, publish, distribute, and adapt the content in print, digital, and social media formats. You may also publish your content elsewhere at any time. Read the FACE to FACE Content Submission Consent Agreement.
Submissions created with the help of AI tools are welcome, provided they meet our editorial standards and are thoroughly reviewed and edited by you. We strongly encourage you to disclose any AI assistance during your submission.
8
How do I submit content?
Please be sure to review the Community Guidelines. Then, visit the Content Categories page to select the format that best matches your idea. Next, simply click "Let's Go" to begin your submission. You can also navigate directly to the Share Content page at any time. It will be best if you have all of your materials easily accessible for uploading. The submission form is fast and simple.
9
Can I submit more than once?
Yes! We welcome repeat contributors, we encourage you to engage in the comments, and we even welcome short follow-ups or reflections. A steady flow of new content keeps the platform dynamic and encourages ongoing community dialogue.
