Hello. I'm Otacílio.

Prof. Dr. Otacílio Chagas-Júnior earned his DDS from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (2002), followed by a Master’s (2004) and PhD (2007) in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul. He also holds a specialist designation in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery from the Federal Council of Dentistry (2005).

His international training includes a Post-Doctoral AOCMF Fellowship at Universitätsspital Basel in Switzerland (2013) and the IBRA HEAD Scholarship at Landeskrankenhaus Feldkirch in Austria (2020).

Currently, he serves as Full Professor in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Traumatology, and Prosthodontics at the Federal University of Pelotas. He is also the lead faculty member for the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery emphasis within the Clinical Dentistry concentration of the university’s Graduate Program in Dentistry (PPGO).

Prof. Chagas-Júnior leads the Bone Repair Research Group (UFPel/CNPq) and is a member of the AOCMF Faculty in Brazil.
